Regular Events

The items appearing in the Programme can all be said to be regular events but there are some which are open to other Clubs and/or all-comers.

PenguinAn early season event, in which weather has been known to play a part, is a match with Horsham Rifle Club for the Penguin Trophy. This can be shot by as many members of the two Clubs as can attend. The result is based on the average score shot by Members. A feature of the match is that .303" calibre rifles are used at 300 yards and 7.62mm at 500 yards. The course of fire is 2 sighters and 10 rounds to count at each range with sighters being convertable.

Boar The other fixture is the Boar Trophy, shot on Armistice Sunday, observing the two minute silence at just about range fall-back time. This shoot is mainly for teams of four and is open to any Club that wishes to enter a team. Course of fire is again 2 convertable sighters with 10 rounds to count at 300 and 500 yards. Individuals are catered for by a 'Best Score' event and one based on a nominated start.

Penguin

While this might be considered appropriate for the Boar Trophy, it is from the Heros shoot, as the frost indicates, where a variety of firearms may be featured.
